Multitudes

Multitudes was the working title of Linda’s preliminary research for her honors thesis in dance at The George Washington University. The solo was presented on December 9th, 2017, and the full ensemble work will premier in May.

Multitudes is a dance/technology piece on the subject of intimacy in virtual spaces. By connecting a GoPro camera to the body while dancing, two simultaneous performances are created — one physical, and one online. Each involves a different, but at times concurrent, relationship with an audience member; one face-to-face, and one through a screen. Thus, the viewer is confronted with the meaning of intimacy and how it manifests in digital spheres — sometimes more than it does “in real life.”
